This is stuff I recorded when I was a little kid. No, not on a VCR. This was before VCRs existed. I recorded it off TV by holding the microphone of the audio cassette recorder up in front of the TV and hoping my family would keep
quiet. Really!
I captured these clips off the tape and converted them to MP3 format. Needless to say, the quality isn't great. But it sure brings back memories! |
Don't Try This At Home:When Kikaida aired in Hawai`i, there was a rash of incidents at local elementary schools, where kids hurt themselves or their friends imitating the stunts they saw on the show. Apparently, this was quite a shock. Japanese kids are better-behaved than American ones, it seems. So the stars of these Japanese superhero shows filmed short PSAs, in costume, asking kids not to imitate them.

This album, released in 1974, was one of my childhood favorites. So far as I know, it's out of print, and no longer available.
I included the first line as well as the title, since most of us didn't even know the titles. I don't speak Japanese, so I rendered the titles and such phonetically. If you do speak Japanese, try not to laugh too hard. ;-)
