Steven Pacey is an actor, perhaps best known for playing Tarrant in the British science fiction series BLAKE'S SEVEN. But he's done much more than that....

  Horizon reports:

Steven will be appearing in a Gala Charity Production of Side By Side By Sondheim for the Shooting Star Children's Hospice on Sunday 21st May at the Novello Theatre, London.

The original stars of Side By Side By Sondheim are reuniting for a charity benefit concert of the revue on May 21st at the Novello Theatre in London. The performance will benefit the Shooting Star Children's Hospice, which supports terminally ill children and their families. David Kernan, Millicent Martin, Julia McKenzie and Ned Sherrin starred in the original London and Broadway productions of the revue, the first of many Sondheim-themed evenings to follow. Side By Side By Sondheim premiered at London's Mermaid Theatre in 1976--the same year that the legendary composer/lyricist's Pacific Overtures opened on Broadway. Side by Side transferred to Broadway the next year, and received five Tony Award nominations. Directed by Kernan, with musical staging by Bill Deamer and musical direction by Gareth Valentine, the revue will also feature guest appearances. The performers will sing numbers from A Funny Thing Happened On the Way to the Forum (1962), Company (1970), Follies (1971) and more. Since the revue premiered, Sondheim has gone on to pen the scores of Sweeney Todd, Merrily We Roll Along, Sunday in the Park with George, Into the Woods, Assassins, Passion and Bounce. Guest appearances from Dame Judi Dench, Christopher Biggins, Joan Collins OBE, Sir Trevor McDonald, Maureen Lipman and Nicholas Parsons.

Box Office 0870 950 0939. Tickets, which range in price from £150 to £25, are available with a £1.50 booking fee levied on each ticket. £150 tickets provide the wonderful opportunity of joining the stars at a special after-show party at The Waldorf Hilton next to the theatre. Please be aware when purchasing £150 tickets that black tie MUST be worn for this after-show event.

Steven is also doing a season at the Regents Park Open Air Theatre. He is playing Oberon in A Midsummer Night's Dream and the father in Sandy Wilson's The Boyfriend. They are playing in Rep from 31 May through to 09 September.

There's a short but sweet review of Gentlemen and Players, one of Steven books on tape, here. It says, "Steven Pacey's reading is sublime."

From Horizon: Steven plays Peregrine Howell-Davis MP in episode 3 of the new series of BBC1's Spooks. Episodes 1 & 2 are on 12 & 13 September, so episode 3 will probably be on 19th September (but we aren't sure yet!) It's the episode guest starring Rupert Graves & David Threlfall: Democracy is under threat from a far right political party, The British Way. Adam and Fiona go undercover in an attempt to infiltrate and destroy its campaign.

According to Horizon: Steven joins the cast of the second season of ITV's comedy drama Distant Shores, which stars Peter Davison, along with Gareth Thomas as Charles McAllister. Steven will be in several episodes of the 6-part show.

Steven did not do a second season of M.I.T. after all. They ended up dropping almost the entire cast. It didn't even air in the U.K., just in Australia. However, there's a nice interview from the first season here.

Check out these screencaps from an old TV ad Steven did.
